In July of 2004 she was hired by the station as a reporter and reported on a wide range of stories. These included investigating the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings in Bailey, Colorado. Nair was commissioned as a reporter for ABC News in December 2007 as a correspondent/anchor for ABC News Now. The anchor was responsible for anchoring live news coverage, along with briefings on ABC's digital networks. Nair also served as a co-anchor of World News Now, America This Morning as well as ABC's online network, which ran from September 17th, 2008 through February 18th 2011. In both programs, she was partnered first with Jeremy Hubbard then later Rob Nelson. Nair informed the audience on World News Now that she will not appear on World News Now after Friday 18th of February 2011. Her last day at ABC News would be Friday on February 18. Peggy Bunker from KDVR Denver became her replacement immediately. World News Now, February 18th included three tributes to Nair. The former and present colleagues appeared in the segments.
